OH MY GOSH WHAT IF ALL THE ROBINS TEAMED UP ON THIS “FUCK YOU BEING ROBIN GIVES ME MAGIC ISSUE”?

No, like, someone would be like “and you guys sit this one out since you have no powers” and Jason’s like “EXCUSE THE FUCK OUT OF YOU” and EVERYBODY is losing their SHITS and Dick’s like “pfft you think this level of fucking grace comes natural no” and Tim’s and Cass are in the corner silently agreeing and Steph’s legit bouncing off the walls and saying that all the Batgirls and all the Robins have magic so that means she’s a frigging deity that’s how goddamn MAGIC she is and it’s THE DUMBEST DISPLAY IN THE WORLD.

And Babs and Damian are like u loosers.

EXCUSE THE FUCK OUT OF YOU is exactly what he’d say.

Just try to tell him that being Robin doesn’t make you magic

just

try

it

“I hate Damian Wayne and Jason Todd, I think they are the worst Robins to exist.”

Jason was the worst Robin ever. That’s kind of the point of him.
But he and Damian are still interesting as people and characters, precisely because they are so flawed and have so many issues and do SUCH TERRIBLE THINGS OH EM GEE
also how dare you hate on my childcrush you suck i hope you get run over by an ice cream truck

The point of Jason was never about him being the worst Robin ever. If that were even remotely true, what does that make Damian, who is a trained assassin, beheaded a man, tried to kill Tim Drake, stole the Robin suit, constantly and recklessly disobeys orders, is belligerent to hired help (Alfred), has spouted classist and sexist commentary (calling Selina a ‘tramp’, discussing Stephanie’s chest size, and his initial dismissal of Dick Grayson’s circus roots)? And yet, the text does not inform us that he is a bad Robin. What the text informs us is that he is young and he is learning.
Unfortunately, the false idea that Jason wasn’t a good Robin is continually perpetuated by what the text tells us through retcons and focusing on Jason’s death being his own fault or failure. The retcons push ideas that change aspects of Jason’s origin to make him more of a bad seed from the start (ie. being given the Robin suit in Batman 410 vs. stealing it in the newer retconned version from Nightwing Year One), or just plain victim blame.
And finally? Jason was a GOOD ROBIN.

Huh. This kinda got some attention.
Okay, so Jason wasn’t that bad of a Robin. We are dealing with a role that’s been held by a grand total of FIVE people. In a pool that small, SOMEONE’S gotta be the worst (by which I mean, least awesome) of the bunch. Basic math.
I never said I didn’t like Jay. I do. I find him interesting and funny and awesome in his own right. But he made mistakes. Which is fine, everyone does.
I simply feel that he didn’t do as much justice to the uniform as others who have worn it.
(Not even gonna open the can of worms that is Steph’s five minutes as Robin, though. She redeems herself as Batgirl.)
P.S. My “that’s the point of him” comment? Is how canon has chosen to portray him at the moment. Have your issue with them, not me.
P.P.S Damian’s many failings? Yyyep. He IS young. And been raised in pretty much the worst situation ever. Jason was older and knew better.
/arguing on the internet

I really don’t see why there has to be a “best” and “worst” here. Why can’t every Robin be judged by his or her own merits, instead of in comparison to the rest?
But even if we do, how was Jason in any way lesser than the others? They’ve all argued with Batman. They’ve all disobeyed orders. They’ve all made mistakes. They’ve all been brave, selfless, and passionate. The only thing that separates Jason is that he died, and that wasn’t his fault.
As for Steph, why on Earth would she need to “redeem” herself as Batgirl? She was innovative, determined, and courageous as Robin. She saved Bruce’s life. She held her own besides Cassandra. She complemented Batman, scared criminals, comforted children. Her only mistake was disobeying Batman’s orders to try and help him, which every other Robin has done.

Emphasis mine for TRUTH

jason was the best robin
i think, in the pixie boots era, he was more robin than dick was, and dick agreed with that assessment

op why is this an opinion you think you have to have anonymously
just go shout it in your local comic shop nobody will give you shit about it like we will on tumblr
the average batfan hates them and makes no secret of it

I love Damian and Jason even more because of this.

It’s unfortunate that people consider the Robins in terms of best and worse. But, I mean, that’s going to happen. When something is presented to you in a group like that, it seems like it’s just part of the basic thought process to rank them somehow. Example: there are three Godfather movies. We all know which one is the worst. I accept that there might be debate about the best, but I’d say part one, as a matter of preference.
Personally, I’ve loved every single one of those kids, and I try to think of them in terms of which is my favorite as opposed to which is best. But I only do that because I love them all. I think that if there was one I didn’t like, then I would be inclined to call him/her the worst.
